Akan Travel was founded by Sonia and Jean Marcel, a multicultural duo united by a deep love for exploration, culture, and the African continent. We chose the name Akan because it reflects Jean Marcel’s own ethnic heritage — a reminder of our roots and a tribute to the rich cultural traditions that inspire our journeys.
With years of traveling across Africa, we bring local insight, storytelling, and a genuine curiosity for people, customs, and landscapes. Our backgrounds in anthropology, languages, and photography shape the way we design our tours: immersive, respectful, and filled with meaningful encounters.
